Biography: Fred Cregeen was the son of James Cregeen, a shoe maker from Castletown who in 1914 was living in Liverpool. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps upon the outbreak of war, and was killed in action in France on 22 April 1916, with serving with the 17th Field Ambulance. He is now commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial to the missing at Ypres, Belgium. (Image ref: PG/13743/36).
