Biography: George Clague of Castletown was a farmhand before enlisting in the army in 1914. He joined the 13th battalion Royal Scots, and was posted to France. He died of his injuries in a Manchester war hospital, after being wounded on 15 September 1916, during the Battle of the Somme. He was buried in Glasgow, where his widowed mother lived.
