Biography: Herbert Kinvig of Douglas was employed for many years by Okells Brewery, and was also a member of Douglas Town Band. He joined the army in December 1917, and the following year was posted to the 2nd battalion Lancashire Fusiliers in France. After just three weeks, he was killed in action, aged 38. His body was buried in Mont Bernanchon British Cemetery, near Bethune. (Image ref: PG/13743/71).
