Dr Charles Satchell Pantin
Title: Dr
Epithet: Lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps
Record type: First World War Biographies
Biography: Dr Charles Pantin was in 1914 the Senior Surgeon at Noble's Hospital, Douglas. In September 1915 the War Office appealed for civilian surgeons to offer their services to the army. Pantin was one of those who responded, and was gazetted as a Surgeon-Lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps. His war service does not appear to have taken him overseas, and by 1917 he was back at Noble's Hospital, which had in part become a war hospital, treating both battle casualties and sick and injured from the Island's internment camps.
