John James Frowde

Biography: John James Frowde was born on 18 July 1868. His wife Amy (19 June 1871 - 7 March 1964) bore him a daughter Enid Marguerite (d. 22 September 1986). Frowde owned and ran the the chemist business on Windsor Road, Douglas from about 1890, taking it from Mr W. A. McKown. Later it was run by Mr Frowde's nephew Bert Hemensley and thereafter by his son John Hemensley. Frowde died on 20 March 1946 at the age of 77 and was buried in Douglas Borough Cemetery on 23 March.
