Administration / Biographical History: The Cerberus was a 250 ton ship with 4 guns and a crew of 30 men, including the captain, John Kendall. On 21 April 1765 she sailed from Liverpool for 400 slaves and succeeded in purchasing 350 slaves on the Gold Coast. The Cerberus arrived arrived at Jamaica with 270 slaves on 17 June 1766, over one fifth of the slaves having died during the Middle Passage. She sailed from Jamaica on 30 September with only 12 crew, arriving back in Liverpool on 1 December 1766 after 436 days. Her owners were the Liverpool merchants William Gregson, Jonathan Blundell, John Bridge, Thomas Kendall and Charles Pole.
