Scope & Content: There is a description and reference O.S.V.1 field 2314 of the field where bricks were made c.1820 at Close Vark. The women moulded the bricks and layed them out on straw to dry then making a hole and making a kiln hot with turf and sods to cook. Close Vark house was raised a few feet and a brick porch put on it. Also mention of making bricks at Cowin's Elder Grove (Kerroogarroo) for their own use, not to sell.
