Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'A reminder - per the tower. Churchwarden Quine (of Ballaharry, Marown). Father of John Quine the marine engineer who, not withstanding three stiff fingers on his righthand, was a surprisingly skilful organiser. His brother E C Quine, a Liverpool baker, inherited Ballaharry, (John having made no willl). Stories of the old Churchwarden - Methodist. The new stove near Chancel, his opinion asked of it by the Misses Croughan, principal subscribers; his typical and offensive reply. His protest to certain young hooligans in the tower porch about 6 pm. 'Gawd' d-n it bouys, can't ye remember ye're in house O'Gawd?' In picture, the wind is about W by the vane, but E to SE by the smoke from the Albert Hotel chimney. Env IV 14'.
