She recalls walking to Glen Maye from Doarlish Cashen to collect post; getting groceries from Glen Maye and father going to Peel on horse and cart; making butter; crops grown; father fishing from Peel with the fleet; children at home; living at Gordon; father driving trams in the summer; moving to St Mark's smithy; marrying Tom Kermode, blacksmith; helped make horseshoes; Sunday School; agricultural implements repaired at the smithy.

Annie’s sister recalls her school days. They talk about the Rheast; the orchard at Gordon; sister Edith killed in the war; well at St Marks; mother taking fleeces to Tynwald Mills and swapping for goods; father bringing coal to Doarlish Cashen; moving to Tosaby and then Knock-e-View; homes in St Marks.

I worked with Frank in 1970s and met up with him again when he lived with his wife next to my daughter. He was an architect in his day when I worked with him. But he is so knowledgeable about Isle if man. - Sheila Ferguson Report this
