Scope & Content: The identification of Konrad Johann Wilhelm Stuhlmann is based upon the prisoner number 13577 which appears on the glass plate, and comparison with the hospital and repatriation lists on the ICRC website. His Red Cross bureau number was 33512. He was hospitalised with influenza from 7 February 1917 to 13 February 1917.
He appears first on a list of prisoners dated 29/5/15, age shown as 22, home address: 185 Glacsten Avenue, Wood Green, London N. Born: Wetter b/Cassel. Listed at Frith Hill camp.
There appears to be a record of his birth on 29 April 1893 in Wetter, Hesse. The same man travelled from Hamburg to New York, arriving 9 October 1924, and applied for US citizenship whilst living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. His occupation was given as baker, and his name on his application as John Konrad Stuhlmann. He registered for the US draft in 1942 as John Conrad Stuhlmann. He died in 1974 and is buried in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensborough. Pennsylvania.
A descendent in the United States has a print taken from this negative, embossed with a Warburton stamp.
