Scope & Content: Track 1: Monologue by Mr Kelly of Garwick and Baldrine about fishing trips as a boy and his grandfather’s fishing boats. He talks about 'Wendy', a sailing boat he sailed and the pleasure boats on Garwick beach; fishing trips as a boy with Mr Callow on the 'Wendy' for salmon and cod off Cornaa and out to sea to mackerel grounds; foreign trawlers; powder house on Clay Head; flatfish fishing; conger fishing; crosh bollan charm; the 'Mona' fishing boat used by his grandfather through the First World War; salmon fishing at Cornaa; drying, cleaning and mending the net; handmade willow lobster pots; problem of finding crew during the First World War; his aunty helping with the lobster pots.

Track 2: Mr Kelly starts by complaining about the Manx Grand Prix (MGP) races making a noise during his recording but then continues with his story of the lobster pots. He then talks about seine net fishing off Laxey beach; Laxey miners crewing his grandfather’s boat during the First World War; cod long-line fishing and mackerel fishing; grandmother taking fish boxes to Clucas’ in Douglas; construction, inside and rigging of the 'Kitty' fishing boat; collecting the 'Kitty' from Maryport with James Callow of Douglas; Tom Cain, blacksmith, fixing the wheel and rails on the 'Kitty'; Ballagawne School closed December 1918 to February 1919 because of the flu; conversion of the 'Kitty' including install by E.B. Christian of engine.
