Scope & Content: Thomas ('Tom') Sweeney talks to John Beckerson (with occasional contributions from his wife Jacqueline) about his holiday in the Isle of Man. He talks about his first visit to the Isle of Man with his family when he was 25; Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) races, the Southern 100 and the Manx Grand Prix; the Hotel Mona on Loch Promenade in Douglas, run by Leo and Dorothy Walters and the Rydalmount; licensing laws; drinking in hotel bars and pubs including the Waterloo, the British and the Bowling Green in Douglas, the Whitehouse in Peel and the Stanley in Ramsey; visits to the casino; good weather and beaches; relaxed pace of life on the island; atmosphere of the TT; and his favourite places including Port Cornaa, Peel and Ramsey.
