Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from the Duke and Duchess of Atholl's Stewards, Daniel Mylrea [the Younger] and John Quayle [the Younger], informing His Grace that Mr. Banks only wants to purchase a portion of [Kirk Conchan's] impropriate tithes, and his knowledge of these tithes gives him a great advantage in negotiations; the Stewards then report that the principal gentlemen and merchants have convened to agree upon a petition to the British Treasury, seeking to overturn restrictive parliamentary clauses and the opening up of lines of commerce; it is also reported that the House of Keys will deliver a petition to the King, with a copy enclosed; the letter concludes with information on a remittance sent to the Duke.
