Scope & Content: Alex Campbell and Jim Pearson. Alex Campbell was seven times Australian sidecar champion, and came to the Isle of Man for the first time in 1974 aged 44, as he had heard that the speeds were faster at the Tourist Trophy races. He finished 7th in 1975 500cc sidecar TT race, and 6th in the 1976 1000cc race.
He raced in the sidecar event at the revived Australian TT in 1976 where he won easily. He was killed in a crash at an Australian circuit in 1980. He was a motorcycle dealer with a shop, Campbell Yamaha, in Sturt Street, Mount Gambier, South Australia.
