Scope & Content: The fisherman is Brian Johnstone, who was crewman for Lord Percy of Strathallan Castle on his boat 'Homarus'. The children of Port St Mary knew him by the nickname of 'The Englishman' whilst others called him 'Flynn' after the film star Erroll Flynn. In the background is the 'William Herdman', which at the time was the research vessel for the Marine Biological Station at Port Erin.
