Scope & Content: Tom Dodd starts by reading an extract from the poem ‘Betsy Lee’ by Thomas Edward Brown. Tom then tells a number of humorous Manx stories including about an old Manx preacher; a widow who married four times; Glen Rushen weaver and the fairies; preacher; old Manxman and 'The Tiger' public house near Glen Helen; Thomas Shimmin of Kirk Rushen or Tom the Dipper.

He says how a Manxman will not often give a direct ‘yes or no’ to a question.

Tom ends with the story of a heckler at political meetings in Sulby.
