Steam-roller in Bowring Road, Ramsey

Scope & Content: The roller was purchased new from manufacturers Aveling and Porter in 1896 by Ramsey Town Commissioners. When road tax came in for such vehicles in 1934 it was registered MN 3940. In 1948 it was sold to the Manx Asphalt Paving and Construction Company and was finally scrapped at Billown Quarry in 1960.
