Scope & Content: 1906 Rover driven by Ernest Courtis, the 1907 TT winner. The car was entered by John K. Starley who was the Works Manager at Rover. To differentiate him from his father also John Kemp Starley he was universally known as “Jack” in the works (never “Josh”). The other car was entered by Harry Smith who was the Managing Director of Rover.Two Rovers were entered in the race; no. 22 Jack Starley (E. Courtis) and car no. 25 Harry Smith (E R Folker) .There is another photograph of car registration DU-1027 as car 25 which crashed at Sulby Bridge.PG/13845/2
