Scope & Content: Handwritten copy of a ten verse poem attributed to 'The Baldwin Poet', 1 June 1875, beginning 'On the top of a hill, near Baldwin gill, /There stands a grand tower, made of stone' Joe's Tower, now a ruin, is in one of the fields on Balliagey (Ballergey) Farm, Abbey Lands. The poet describes the view from Joe's Tower, including various places such as the Asylum, the racecourse and Ballamotha and gives his opinions of these, as well as descriptions of local characters.
