Scope & Content: Content includes financial and legal papers. account books, receipts and bills, diaries, private journals, poetry, autograph and address books, school text and exercise books, calling cards, social invitations, messages of condolence, correspondence between family members, from friends and business acquaintances, greeting cards, postcards, present lists, printed resources such as appliance instructions and books, sheet music and ephemera relating to wartime events, duties and rationing. Papers include Alice Gibb's records and ephemera retained from her time as Supervisor of the Melt Room at the National Shell Filling Station, Chilwell during the First World War.
