It's quite possible that my grandfather, Charles Matt, could have made some of this furniture. His son, my Uncle Paul, in the 1920s, worked with Quakers in the impoverished Welsh valleys where they set up the Brynmawr Furniture factory. There are pieces of the fine Brynmawr furniture at the Welsh History Museum at St Fagans. - Andrea Griffiths Report this
