Scope & Content: Written on glass plate is '3937 Kraenieke' which corresponds to 3937 Fritz Kraenicke in the Douglas Camp daybook.

Appears in the ICRC database which confirms his full name as Friedrich Wilhelm August Kraenicke. It confirms his ICRC number as 27287 and his Douglas Camp number as 3937, confirmed as arriving at Douglas 3/11/15, previously held on a prison ship off Ryde, IOW where he was hospitalised with Malaria. Next of kin: Wilhelm Kraenicke, Tollner Str 19, Dortmund. As Fritz Kraenicke he appears in a marriage register held by Amsterdam City Archives. He was married in 1920, and gave his occupation as Director, Meteor Manufacturing Company. Under previous address it is stated 'prisoner of war camp, Isle of Man' and prior to that ' West Africa, Calabar 1912-1914, Deutsche Kamerun Geseltschaft'
