Administration / Biographical History: Bessie Kennaugh's family was from Ronague. She spent four years at St Thomas's School as a pupil teacher, later spending time at Southlands, London. Her full name was Elizabeth Jane Kennaugh. Bessie married Robert Ernest Edward Quilliam JP, a director of Todhunter and Elliott and on the board of the Douglas Gas Company. The family lived at St Anthony's (now Wychwood), Alexander Drive, Douglas, built in 1902 for Quilliam as part of Farrant's Park.
