Scope & Content: ‘A thatch-roofed cottage on the Whitebridge Hill, owned by Mr E Christian, of Ballacallin, Patrick, and occupied by George Crellin, a farm labourer, and his wife, was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday night.

‘A quantity of furniture was removed before the Brigade arrived, but much of the contents of the cottage was destroyed, and the occupier was not covered by insurance’
