https://youtu.be/WFLYY7keQI4

Date(s): 1930-1950

Creator(s): Royston, J. Walter

Scope & Content: A parade along Douglas promenade. Likely to be VE or VJ Day. It starts with Royal Navy, then there is a pipe band, (possibly RAF Jurby), followed by a field gun and nurses. Lastly there are what might be girl guides.

St John Ambulance or Red Cross practice. What look like fake casualties are placed in an ambulance. The pretend casualty who has his head bandaged is Brown of the Times (the editor). This ambulance was first registered in 1942.

A fundraising event at Nobles Hospital. One of the stalls has a sign which reads ‘Come along and be robbed honestly.’

Administration / Biographical History: Original film processed and re-graded by Charles Guard, 2021.
