Scope & Content: Lhen Coan, situated in Groudle Glen, was advertised in Victorian times as the only natural canyon in the Isle of Man. Access to the canyon was by way of a wooden, rustic walkway.
When Groudle Glen opened in 1893 there were so few trees it was advertised as ‘The Fern Glen of the Isle of Man’.
