Royston captures some of the key moments of their trip starting with their visit to the Villa Marina where 3,500 school children stand in the gardens to greet them. They meet William Hoggatt, artist (1879-1961).

Next, Ramsey where they pass through the Market Place, along Parliament Street to Ramsey Town Hall. In the square are 500 school children, servicemen and women, home on leave, and other emergency service professionals.

At Bishopscourt they pose for photographs outside St Nicholas’ chapel and George VI sits in bishop Wilson’s 17th-century chair. As with previous royal visits to the island, they plant two oak trees.

At Peel crowds wait outside Peel Castle. In Castletown crowds also greet them at Castle Rushen and in Castletown Square school children recite the Manx national anthem. The royals then visit King William’s College.

George VI and Queen Elizabeth attend Tynwald Day at Tynwald Hill taking the salute from a Royal Naval Guard of Honour. The band of the Royal Marines plays the national anthem. Film ends with them entering St John's church.
