Scope & Content:
This slab was found in 1906 re-used as a lintel over the west door of the church. It shows the broken and worn shaft of a cross carved in relief on both sides. It is badly worn and bears no clear trace of any other decoration.
Administration / Biographical History: Discovered as the lintel stone over the west door at Marown Church.
Broken shaft of cross used as door lintel in Old Parish Church, badly worn carving on both faces. Found 1906; 62 inch x 16 inch x 2.75 inch. The lintel over the West door was removed and found to be a cross shaft (Manx Crosses No 81), carved in relief, but with the head broken off (10-11).
