Manx Group slate

Description: Metamorphosed micaceous mudstone with very fine siltstone laminae. A vugh of coarse quartz crystals linked to a crystalline quartz layer appears to be a vein that has been sheared and rotated. Folding and cleavage well developed. Maughold Formation or Barrule Formation.
