Record type: Motorsport Biographies

Biography: Age 38, motor engineer, of Hazlehead, near Sheffield. Last year was his first appearance in the T.T. He finished twenty-first in the Junior on a Norton, just missing a replica, but retired in the Senior on the last lap. Has ridden in the "Ulster" every year it has been held since 1938, finishing fourth in the 1947 350 class and being second in the 350 handicap. Last year, as he says, he "got a good soaking in the 'Ulster'," finishing fifteenth in the 350 class.
He is entered by Castletown Brewery Ltd., of the Isle of Man (really!) in both races. HIs Norton is the one which he used in 1947 and 1948, but his G.P. Triumph is a new machine.
Hobbies: "Motor cycles and motor cycles".
