Biography: Age 38, motor engineer, of Hazlehead, near Sheffield. Last year was his first appearance in the T.T. He finished twenty-first in the Junior on a Norton, just missing a replica, but retired in the Senior on the last lap. Has ridden in the "Ulster" every year it has been held since 1938, finishing fourth in the 1947 350 class and being second in the 350 handicap. Last year, as he says, he "got a good soaking in the 'Ulster'," finishing fifteenth in the 350 class.
He is entered by Castletown Brewery Ltd., of the Isle of Man (really!) in both races. HIs Norton is the one which he used in 1947 and 1948, but his G.P. Triumph is a new machine.
Hobbies: "Motor cycles and motor cycles".

Last year he retired in the ninth lap in the “Ulster” after doing a circuit at 90 m.p.h. He finished in last year’s Junior and Senior races, gaining a bronze replica in the former and coming in 17th with a silver replica in the latter.

This year, in the Senior, he is riding the same G.P. Triumph which he used last June, but in the Junior he has a new double-knocker Norton.

He finished in the 1949 Junior and Senior races, gaining a bronze replica in the former and coming in 17th with a silver replica in the latter. In the 1950 TT he was 40th in the Junior at a speed of 76.66 mph riding a Norton, and 42nd in the Senior at 77.76 mph on a Triumph, and gained second class replicas in both events.

He is riding last year’s double-knocker Norton in the Junior and a new Norton in the Senior, and he is entered by himself in both races.

Age 41, a motor engineer from Hazelhead, near Sheffield. Jack Bailey was last year, 30th in the Junior T.T., 16th in the Ulster Junior Grand Prix and 12th in the Senior. He retired on the seventh lap of the Senior T.T., fact he light-heartedly explains with the remark: “ At my usual place, the cottage before Quarry Bends – where excellent tea is served.”

Jack made his first appearance in the T.T. in 1948, when he finished 21st in the Junior on a Norton, but retired in the Senior on the last lap. He has ridden in practically every “Ulster” since 1938, finishing fourth in 1947 350 c.c. class, and second in the handicap. In 1949 he retired in the ninth lap of the “Ulster” after doing a 90 m.p.h. lap. He finished in the ’49 Junior and Senior T.T. races to win a bronze replica in the former and a silver replica in the “500”.

In the 1950 he was 40th in the Junior at a speed of 76.66 m.p.h., riding a Norton, and 42nd in the Senior, at 77.76 m.p.h., on a Triumph, gaining two second class replicas.

He is riding “Featherbed” Nortons this year.
