Biography: Age 46, Reginald Ernest Cheney is a pharmaceutical chemist and comes from Rugby. He started trials riding 23 years ago, took to grass track racing after the war and to road racing in 1957. Since then he has figured prominently at Cadwell Park and Kirkby Mallory.
Last year's Sidecar race was his first T.T. and, riding a 1953 ex-pip Harris Norton, he came home ninth at 63.88 m.p.h., with a bronze replica. A month later he was second in the sidecar Scratch race at Mallory Park.
Hobbies: "Running a pharmacy six days a week and motor cycling on the seventh leave very little time for anything else!" (TT Special, 13 June 1960, p.16.)
