Biography: Age 28, Ian Clarke is a process engraver from Petts Wood, Kent. This is his sixth racing season, and he has appeared at a number of venues, his successes including places at Brand's Hatch, Crystal Palace, Thruxton and Snetterton. In the 1955 Junior MGP he retired on the third lap through magneto failure. In 1956 he was a non-starter in the Junior, but finished 31st in the Senior. He rode in both Manx races in 1957, but retired on the third lap of the Junior and the second of the Senior. Last year, however, he had better luck - he finished 16th in the Senior Manx on a Norton at 85.07 mph and collected a Replica. Hobby: Clock repairing.
