John Evans

Biography: Age 27, John Evans is an engineer and comes from Liverpool. He has had five years' racing experience on various short circuits with a few firsts, lots of "somewheres" and several "nowheres". He competed in the 1957 500 Newcomers Race, but retired at Kirk Michael on the first lap. In the 1958 350 c.c. Snaefell race, however, he finished 12th on his B.S.A. at 78.68 m.p.h.
In 1959 he finished 49th in the Junior Manx, whilst last year he was 27th in the Senior at 84.39 m.p.h. General remarks: "Replica or bust !" (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.11)
