Age 30, Peter Fernando is a civil engineer employed by the Shell Co., of Ceylon, and his home is in Colombo. He has been interested in motor-cycle sport for twelve years, riding in road and aerodrome races and also taking part in speed hill climbs of the “Red Marley” type.
His most recent success was in the Ceylon Road Race at the end of last year and now he intends to specialise in road racing. He will be riding a new 350 c.c. “Featherbed” in both races, and is entered by the Ceylon Motor Club.

Peter makes flying his hobby and holds a pilot’s licence, but he is also keen on the building and racing of model aircraft and “anything with an engine.”

Age 29, an engineer, of Colombo, Peter Fernando is one of Ceylon’s most successful racing motor cyclists. In 1947 in the airport speed trials he was second in the 500 class and later in the year, won the unlimited race. Last year, on the special Easter racing circuit, he won the racing class on a Tiger “100,” and in Ceylon’s first road race this year, he gained a double first.
