Mount: 125 c.c. – L.C.H.

Age, 37, Len Harfield is a garage foreman and comes from Southampton.

He is a familiar figure on the southern short circuits, and has been “placed” in races at Blandford, Ringwood, Warminster and Thruxton. His mount was a double-knocker 125 c.c. Royal Enfield, and for the 1954 125 c.c. T.T. he built a “Mark II” version of the machine. Unfortunately it was not ready in time for the race, and he appeared on an E.M.C., retiring on the first lap. The L.C.H. was ready in 1955, and it had the distinction of being the only British machine to finish in the 125 c.c. T.T. – and in a creditable eighth place, too!

In the 1956 125 c.c. Ultra-Lightweight race over the Clypse circuit, Len was flagged off after completing eight laps owing to the expiry of the race time limit.

Royal Enfield, and for the 1954 125 c.c. TT he built a "Mark II" version of the machine. Unfortunately it was not ready in time for the race, and he appeared on an E.M.C., retiring on the first lap. The L.C.H. was ready in 1955, and it had the distinction of being the only British machine to finish in the 125 c.c. TT - and in a creditable eighth place, too!

In the 1956 125 c.c. Ultra-Lightweight race over the Clypse circuit Len was flagged off after completing eight laps owing to the expiry of the racetime limit, and in 1957 he had even worse luck, retiring on the fourth lap. Last year, however, he was 16th in the "125," with a Finisher's Award.
