Biography: Mount: Junior – Velocette
Age 36 years, occupation Electrical Engineer, home. South-east London. Worked on telecommunications during the war, as a civilian, having been turned down for aircrew duty in the R.A.F. due to defective colour vision and various other services having been equally inhospitable. Asked if he has any hobby besides motor cycling says “Is there any other. No, there isn’t – beer isn’t what it was.”
Has ridden in four Ulster G.P.’s – 1936 and ’37 without finishing, 1938 finished 6th, and 1939 finished 11th (Lightweight). Started but did not finish in 1938 Junior T.T., and won a bronze replica in the 1939 ditto. He also collected replicas, cuts, bruises and abrasions at Donington.
His machine is “the same old ruin, 1938 Mk.7 K.T.T. Velocette, which I rode in ’38 and ‘39”, and is entered by George Bryant.
