Age 34, occupation, pilot on the Upper Mersey, home, Aigburth, Liverpool. War job: in the Navy, Coxswain in Light Coastal Forces (M.T.B.’s).
Of his past racing experiences he says “Haven’t ridden for a number of years. Manx Grand Prix 1931 – Ballacraine was my undoing.”
His machine, now fitted with McCandless rear springing is the model with which Denis Parkinson won the M.G.P. Lightweight and set up a lap record in 1937. Last year it was raced successfully by W. M. Webster, who won the Skerries 100, came 7th in the Ballaneha 100, 4th in the Ulster Road Race and 16th in the M.G.P. Lightweight.
