He has ridden on local short circuits for the last three years and has had a go at scrambles, trials and grass tracks—he has even had a few rides on the speedway. Junior – Velocette
Age 21, Ian Maguire is a motor cycle salesman and comes from Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, 21. He has ridden on local short circuits for the last two years and has had a go at scrambles, trials and grass tracks – he has even had a few rides on the speedway.

Ian’s machine has a Velocette engine and gear-box, housed in a Manx Featherbed frame. The engine was built in 1950 and is one of the last KTT’s to leave the factory. Due entirely to tuner G. K. Penson, of Knutsford, it is considerably faster than it was ten years ago, but is obviously not quite so quick as the modern “Manx’s” and 7R’s!
