Biography: Age 31, Patrick Millard comes from Dagenham, and is a trimmer at Briggs Motor Bodies. He started road racing in 1950 as a sidecar passenger — learning the hard way ! Later he acquired his own Norton outfit and has raced it at Aintree, Brands Batch, Cadwell, Castle Coombe, Crystal Palace, Ibsley, Mallory Park, Silverstone and Snetterton, and has had firsts, seconds and thirds at most of the circuits.
He rode in the T.T. for the first time in I957-- in the Sidecar race was unlucky, for he had to retire on the second lap, and in 1958 his luck was out again—he retired on the first lap. The following September, however, he scored thirds in Sidecar races at Silverstone and Snetterton.
He wasn't very lucky in the sidecar T.T., but at least he finished - 13th ! - and a month later he won the second three-wheelers race at Brands Hatch with his Norton. In May, 1960, he won the Sidecar Handicap at Mallory Park, and in the Sidecar T.T. he came home eighth with a Bronze Replica, also being a member of the winning club team. Last September he won the Sidecar Handicap race at Mallory Park scored various seconds and thirds at other short circuit meetings.
