Terry Muir

Biography: Age 27, Terence Robert Muir is a hosiery technician from Chilwell, Nottingham. He rode in the 1957 350 Newcomers' race and finished 50th at 67.70 m.p.h., and has had considerable experience of short circuit races, usually getting into the finals. He finished 55th in the 1958 Snaefell "350," but in 1959 he had trouble on the second lap of the Junior. He continued after about ten minutes and managed to finish in 75th position. Last year he finished 45th in the Junior at 78.25 m.p.h. Terry describes his machine for this year's Junior as "just a standard 1960 40M." Hobbies : "Wine, women and song."

I knew Terry Muir in the 1970's when he ran a small business making spare parts for knitting machines that had been exported to India. He gave me a passion for Norton motorcylces and I spent a great deal of time working for him and with him in his factory which he named Mcintyre Developments. Terry was a good friend, we lost contact when I moved south but I am told he migrated to the Isle of Mann. - Roger Jackson Report this
