Biography: Age 30, William Siddles is a technical assistant and comes from Ward End, Birmingham. He started racing in April 1957, at Castle Combe and has since competed at most of the short circuit meetings in England and Wales, usually finishing in the first ten—he was 1st in the 1958 350 c.c. race at Silverstone Trophy Day.
He entered for the 1958 350 c.c. Snaefell race but was a non-starter, due to a spill. In 1959, however. he was 27th in the Junior, winning a replica. Bill was second in last year's Junior Clubman's and had a sixth in the "Hutch" at Silverstone. He came home 12th in the Senior Manx at 86.59 m.p.h., winning a replica.
Both his Nortons for this year's races are recent Manx models—the 350 is a 1960 machine, whilst the 500 is brand new, having only been raced once—at Oulton Park on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Last year, however he was 27th in the Junior, winning a replica. Bill was second in this year’s Junior Clubman’s and had a sixth in the “Hutch” at Silverstone.
The Taylor-Dow special which he is riding in the Senior is a modified Gold Star in a special frame with a Norton 2LS front brake.
