Biography: Age 24, C. J. Williams is a truck driver, and comes from Digswell, Herts. He won a first-class award in the 1954 Land's End trial and since taking up racing has scored three firsts in non-expert races at Brands Hatch and seconds at Mallory Park and Crystal Palace. In 1959 he won "Motor Cycling's" cup at Silverstone Saturday and was first in the Production single-cylinder class at Bemsee's Trophy Day meeting. He has ridden in two Senior M.G.P.'s - 1959 and 1960 - but has had to retire in both. (TT Special, 7 September 1961, p.18)

Last year he won “Motor Cycling’s” cup at Silverstone Saturday and was first in the Production single-cylinder class at Bemsee’s Trophy Day meeting.

His machine consists of Ned Minihan’s 1959 G50 Matchless engine and gearbox fitted into Ernie Washer’s 1959 Beart-Norton frame.
