Age 26, Derek Williams is a plater and comes from Rainhill, near Liverpool. He has had five years of road racing, taking part in events at Oulton Park, Aberdare Park, Mallory Park, and Osmaston Manor and he has also visited the Island to compete in the Southern “100.” In 1957 he finished second in the 350 c.c. Newcomers’ race at 82.49 m.p.h., and in the Junior Manx next day he was 20th, in both Junior and Senior races and collected two more replicas, as he did last year.
