Biography: Age 20, Les Allen is a design draughtsman, from New Mostan, Manchester 10, who has ridden at Aintree, Charterhall, Kirkcaldy, Oulton, Prees Heath, Rhydymwyn, etc. His machine started life in 1954 as a 500 c.c. Touring Gold Star. Its original engine has now been replaced by a 1959 350 c.c, unit. and Les has carried out various other modifications. Hobbies: Small and large bore shooting, football pools - and "keeping the wife in clothes." (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.8)
