Biography: Age 19, Rex Edward Butcher is a toolmaker (improver) and comes from Croydon, Surrey. He started racing at the beginning of last season on a 175 c.c. Ducati and scored several places within the first dozen at Brands Hatch. This year he bought his Norton (from John Surtees) and finished second in a non-expert race at Brands last Easter, and at a later Brands meeting he won a similar race. He has also competed at Crystal Palace and Snetterton. Hobby: Fishing. (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.9)
