Biography: Junior – B.S.A.

Age 27, Roy Capner comes from Douglas, Isle of Man and has had plenty of experience of the Mountain course. He rode in the 1951, 1952 and 1953 Clubman’s T.T. races and also in the Manx Grand Prix from 1950 to 1953 inclusive.

He was 25th in the 1953 Junior Manx, winning a Silver replica, while in 1954 Junior T.T. he finished 42nd on a B.S.A. and gained a Bronze replica. In the Senior race he retired in the fourth lap.

He again rode B.S.A. machines in the 1955 races and was 34th in the Junior T.T.

Capner has ridden in many Army trials in addition to short circuit meetings at Andreas, Rhydymwyn, Epynt and Esholt.

He again rode B.S.A. machines in the 1955 races, and was 34th in the Junior T.T.

In1956, on a B.S.A. Capner was 40th in the Junior T.T. and, on the same machine, 44th in the Senior. His respective speeds were 71.96 m.p.h: and 75.81 m.p.h. In 1957 he retired in the Junior and "125" but finished 31st in the Senior, with a couple of Finisher's Awards, and last year, riding in the Junior T.T. only, he came home 40th at 82.45 m.p.h with a bronze replica.

Capner has ridden in many Army trials in adittion to short circuit meetings at Andreas, Rhydymwnyn, Eppypt and Esholt. (TT Special, 13 June 1960, p.16.)
