Biography: Age 27, Donald James Ellis is a metal exchange clerk, and comes from Rickmansworth, Herts. He has raced at Scarborough and at most short circuits in the Midlands and South of England - he was fifth in the 500 c.c. class of the Thruxton "500" in both 1959 and 1960. Last year he was 53rd in the Senior Manx at 76.13 m.p.h.. whilst this year he has kept up his long distance work by riding in the Thruxton "500" again, and in the Silverstone 1000 kilometre race. His machine is a 1959 G50, with 1960 modifications.
Hobbies: Angling, traditional jazz, and riding a 1937 Rudge "Ulster" which he has rebuilt to "as new" condition. (TT Special, 5 September 1961, p.11)
