Senior - Norton

Age 35, Eric Hardy describes himself as a “freelance” and comes from Water Orton, near Birmingham. He had numerous grass track successes before the war and rode in the 1947 “Manx” finishing “a little late” owing to clutch trouble. In 1948, he finished 33rd in the Junior TT on a Norton but retired on the fifth lap of the Senior. In 1949 he rode Nortons in both Junior and Senior TT races and gained second-class replicas in both, finishing 66th in the Junior at 71.16 mph and 29th in the Senior at 75.50 mph.

In the 1950 Junior TT he was forced to retire after competing two laps, but in the Senior, riding a Norton again, he was 37th at a speed of 78.48 mph and gained a second-class replica.

Hobbies: Dancing, skating and travelling and is still hoping to visit New Zealand “when his boat comes home”.
