Biography: Age 22, Brian Hornby is a fitter and turner from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, who has ridden on many "airfield circuits" in the North of England and in Scotland. Last year's Senior race was his first Manx, but his luck was out for he had to retire on the third lap. In this year's Clubman's, however, he finished 13th. His machine is a 1960 Manx model, Beart-tuned to 1961 mods., with a Beart-modified front brake.

Age 21, Brian Hornby is a fitter turner from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, who has ridden on many “airfield circuits” in the North of England and in Scotland. His machine is a 1960 B34 Gold Star with many modifications of the Taylor Dow type; it has a 10.5 to 1 compression ratio and revs up to 8.500.
