Record type: Motorsport Biographies

Biography: Age 32, Peter James is a sales representative for a "well known type manufacturer situated on the banks of the river Avon." He first raced in 1951, concentrating on Clubman and Production classes. This is his first Manx Grand Prix, but he has had experience of the Mountain Course, for he rode in the 1955 and '56 Clubman's "T.T." races, the 1956 event being held over the Mountain. Peter finished in the 350 c.c. classes of both of them - 23rd in the 1955 and 34th in the '56.
Later he became interested in longer distance stuff, and has ridden in several Thruxton "500's" and in the Silverstone "1000". He also indulges in trials - on a Tiger Cub - and has collected a few first and second class awards in S.E. Centre events.
Peter's machine for the Junior race is a 1961 model. Hobbies: "Fulfilling an ambition by riding in the Manx" and "Living from Crisis to Crisis."
